Saying Farewell to Our Software on Salesforce: Your Offboarding Guide
We understand that software needs change over time, and sometimes, parting ways with a tool is the best decision for your business. If you've decided to uninstall our software from your Salesforce instance, we want to ensure the process is as smooth as possible for you. This guide will walk you through the necessary steps to offboard our software gracefully.
1. Assessment and Backup:
Before uninstalling any software, it's crucial to assess your current usage and data dependencies. Take inventory of how our software is integrated into your Salesforce workflows and identify any customisations or configurations that may be affected.
Once you've identified these dependencies, make sure to back up any data or configurations associated with our software. This ensures that you have a safety net in case anything unexpected happens during the uninstallation process.
Payment and Authorisations will exist within your Payment Service Provider Dashboard and uninstalling Asperato will not affect those, however if there is data contained within your Salesforce objects specifically that you may need then you should ensure you take a copy of this and store the information securely.
2. Uninstallation Process from Asperato servers:
Once you have decided to uninstall Asperato, you will need to contact our Onboarding team at onboarding@asperato.com if you have not already discussed this with your Customer Success Manager. There are steps that we take at our side to disconnect your system from processing any payments. Failure to do this may mean you incur charges for transactions processed after your contracted end date.
We will suspend your license and disable the connection to our backend server which will break your payment collections processes. The Asperato objects will remain in your Salesforce organisation until you complete the uninstallation steps below however data will no longer be passed through our system.
Once we have suspended your license with us you will not have access to Asperato objects or the data contained within them so any reports that you need to run or data that you need to extract will have to be performed before this point.
3. Uninstallation Process within Salesforce:
To uninstall our software from your Salesforce instance, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Salesforce org as a System Administrator.
- Navigate to Setup by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- In the Quick Find box, type "Installed Packages" and select the option from the menu.
- Find our software in the list of installed packages and click "Uninstall" next to it.
- Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation process.
During the uninstallation process, Salesforce will provide you with a list of components that will be affected. Review this list carefully to ensure that no critical functionalities are disrupted.
4. Post-Uninstallation Cleanup:
After uninstalling our software, it's essential to clean up any residual components or configurations that may no longer be needed. This includes removing any custom fields, objects, or workflows that were specific to our software.
Additionally, don't forget to revoke any permissions or access rights that were granted solely for our software. This helps maintain the security and integrity of your Salesforce org.
5. Thank You:
We want to express our gratitude for choosing our software and entrusting us with your business needs. While we're sad to see you go, we understand that change is inevitable, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
If you ever decide to revisit our software in the future or if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@asperato.com. We're always here to help.
